The world loves superheroes. They embody what's strength and justice. They give us hope. When we're growing up they can feel like guardian angels. They're an integral staple in our society and forever will be. They inspire everyday average Joes to step up and be heroes themselves. The superhero dwells deep within all of us, and what better way to help tap into our inner hero than television shows and movies that celebrate their extraordinary abilities? Their portrayal on screen reminds us of their glory and inspires us to act accordingly to help those who need it most.
One show in particular that captures the essence of the superhero better than most is The CW's new hit series "Arrow." It's now approaching only its second season and has captured the hearts of comic book fans worldwide. In its first season, Emily Bett Rickards became one of Oliver Queen's go to warriors as Felicity Smoak. Now with the new season right around the corner, the actress opens up about what's in store for her character and the rest of her comrades.
Rickards began by mentioning the changes the Arrow Cave will go through as season 2 rolls out. "She's upgrade it," Rickards said during an interview with IGN. "She's done a makeover on the Arrow Cave, as well as herself. Everything is upgraded."
"Everything's just more high-tech, Everything's been vamped up a little bit," she added. "I think her hair's a little bit more down sometimes - like that's a really big deal or something. The Arrow Cave's just got some new gadgets."
She continued to talk about how the heroes will recover in the wake of last season's epic finale. "Everyone is still broken into pieces," Rickards said. "Five months have passed, but I don't think you quickly come back from a tragedy like the Undertaking delivered to or how it wrecked Starling City. Everyone is still fighting through it. You can imagine such devastation and such tragedy that happens in a town. Oliver is still broken down, and Felicity's trying to put him back together as well. But it's really hard because she's trying to put herself back together, so turmoil, turmoil, drama, drama, drama. Tension, tension."
"Arrow" will return to The CW October 9.
