New WWE Champion Randy Orton kicked off the show, telling the WWE Universe he warned everyone he would strike when least expected and hoped they would support his title reign. Daniel Bryan interrupted the new WWE Champion, thanking John Cena for the opportunity at the championship. Bryan demanded a rematch on Smackdown but Orton told him he would have to wait until the Night of Champions pay-per-view for his chance, before Bryan attacked the champ.
Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel defeated Cody Rhodes. Paul Heyman proceeded to challenge CM Punk for Axel's title on Monday Night Raw next week.
Dolph Ziggler defeated Big E. Langston, nailing him with the Zig Zag for the pin.
World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio defeated Christian in a rematch from their SummerSlam match, again making Christian tap out to the Cross Armbreaker. After the match, Ricardo Rodriguez came down the ring with his new client, Rob Van Dam, who hit the champion with his Five-Star Frog-splash after Christian caught Del Rio off-guard with a Missile Dropkick.
The Big Show and Mark Henry, looking for a shot at The Shield's Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns' tag team titles, destroyed 3MB in a 2-on-1 handicap match, with The Big Show hitting the WMD for the pin.
Darren Young of the Prime Time Players defeated Antonio Cesaro of the Real Americans.
In the main event, Bryan defeat Wade Barrett in a cage match. Orton, yet again, ruined Bryan's night, ambushing him with an RKO to close out the show.
