Daniel Bryan started off the night getting kicked out the building, after John Cena invited him down to the ring to congratulate him on a hard-fought victory, despite the end result. Cena, who informed the crowd he would be out anywhere between four and six weeks getting his injured elbow repaired, gave the floor to Bryan, who was interrupted by Stephanie McMahon in order to let Bryan know that Triple H did what was "best for business." After Bryan snatched the mic from her, she had the former WWE Champion ejected from the building.
Match No. 1: Damien Sandow vs. Cody Rhodes
Rhodes proved that his victory at SummerSlam over the Money In The Bank suitcase-holder was not a fluke, outsmarting Sandow with a roll-up for the three-count.
WINNER: Cody Rhodes via pin
Paul Heyman came out to the ring to tell CM Punk that despite everything that went down in the run-up to his SummerSlam match with Brock Lesnar, he was willing to take him back as a client and forgive him.
Match No. 2: The Funkadactlys (Cameron & Naomi) vs. Layla and WWE Divas Champion A.J. Lee
The WWE Divas champion and the former champ took on two of the Totally Divas cast-members, with Naomi of The Funkadactyls rolling up Layla for the quick win.
WINNER: The Funkadactlys via pin
Match No. 3: Handicap 3-on-1 tag-team match The Shield vs. Dolph Ziggler
As punishment for speaking up against Triple H's actions at SummerSlam, Brad Maddox ordered Ziggler to face all three members of The Shield. Ziggler was no match for the "numbers games," taking a spear from Roman Reigns before getting pinned.
WINNER: The Shield via pin
Match No. 4: WWE World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio vs. Sin Cara (non-title)
The doctors stopped this fight after Sin Cara landed awkwardly and injured his wrist. Del Rio then took the mic, telling the crowd he was a hero to the Latino community before he was interrupted by Ricardo Rodriguez - who Del Rio put out of action a few weeks ago out of spite. Rodriguez told Del Rio he has a new employer and his name was Rob Van Dam. RVD hit the ring, with Del Rio running for the hills as RVD set up for his Five-Star Frog-splash.
WINNER: Alberto Del Rio via doctor stoppage
Match No. 5: The Real Americans (w/ Zeb Colter) vs. The Prime Time Players
After being cut-off from his partner for most of the match, Titus O'Neil nailed Jack Swagger with a Spinebuster and made the hot-tag to Darren Young, who nailed Antonio Cesaro with a Gut Check to keep The Prime Time Players in tag-team title contention.
WINNER: Prime Time Players via pin
Match No. 6: Handicap 3-on-1 Match - The Shield vs. The Big Show
Despite his obvious size advantage, much like Ziggler, The Big Show was no match for the "numbers game," taking both a Reigns' spear as well as a Triple Power-bomb in his defeat at the hands of The Shield.
WINNER: The Shield
CM Punk came out to respond to Heyman, telling him he wanted to destroy him. Heyman responded by telling Punk that Intercontinental champion Curtis Axel would finish what Lesnar had started at SummerSlam. Axel came down to the ring, as Heyman had threatened, and despite fighting through the injuries attained during his grueling match with Lesnar, knocked the Intercontinental champion out with a GTS on the ring-steps.
Match No. 7: Bray Wyatt vs. R-Truth
Wyatt made his Monday Night Raw debut against R-Truth, who wanted a measure of revenge after getting attacked by Wyatt's clan, a few weeks ago. R-Truth did not fare well, getting literally run over by Wyatt for the loss.
WINNER: Bray Wyatt via pin
Match No. 8: 3MB (Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal) vs. The Uso Brothers
The Usos made quick work of 3MB, as they look for a shot at the tag-team titles, with the Usos hitting the SuperKick-Super Fly combo to pin Mahal for the win.
WINNER: The Usos Brother via pin
Match No. 9: The Miz vs. Wade Barrett
The Miz had the win well in hand, locking in the Figure Four Leg-lock on Barrett in the middle of the ring, until Fandango, still angry over being attacked at SummerSlam and humiliated by the SummerSlam host, hit The Miz with a flying leg-drop, causing a disqualification in the match.
WINNER: The Miz via disqualification
The McMahons - Triple H, Mr. McMahon, and Stephanie McMahon - all maintained a united front for Randy Orton's "coronation" as the "future of the company." With the entire WWE roster standing at the ramp acknowledging the new WWE Champion, and informed earlier in the night that Bryan was in the building, Triple H invited Bryan to ringside to air his grievances, face-to-face, promising him safety from The Shield (who were standing guard at ringside). Bryan came down to ringside, only to get assaulted by "The Hounds of Justice," before Triple H finally told them to stop. Triple H implored Bryan to step into the ring to tell him how he feels about losing to Orton before "The Viper" RKO'd Bryan as he was entering the ring, ending the show with the new champion and his new allies standing over a broken and battered Bryan.
