World's no.1 Tiger Woods is scheduled to tee off along with Matt Kuchar and Brandt Snedeker in the opening round of the Barclays Tournament on Thursday at 8:16 a.m at the Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Woods is out to further build his lead over the rest of the field in his pursuit for the FedEx Cup title. Already with 766-point margin over Kuchar, Woods will try to salvage the prestigious hardware and $10 million bonus after finishing third in the standings last year.
Snedeker, who captured the FedEx Cup title last year, is currently trailing Kuchar by 75 points. He won last year's championship after scoring a 2-under-par 68 in the fourth round of the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Woods, a two-time FedEx Cup champion, has already bagged five titles this year but hasn't been able to nab a Grand Slam title. Woods' majors tourney drought extended to six years after collapsing in the crucial stretches of every Grand Slam tournament he participated.
His best performance came in the Masters Tournament where he finished fourth while he also settled for sixth at the British Open 2013.
Meanwhile, reigning Masters Champion Adam Scott will tee off with 2011 PGA Championship titlist Keegan Bradley and Boo Weekley in the first round at 12:55 p.m. Jason Dufner is also scheduled to tee off at 7:45 a.m with Jason Day and Kevin Streelman while US Open winer Justin Rose will tee off along with 20-year-old Jordan Spieth and Sweden's Henrik Stenson. The grouping of Phil Mickelson, Bill Haas, and Billy Horschel will tee off at 1:06 p.m.
The FedEx PGA Tour playoffs will culminate at the Tour Championships in Atlanta on September 22.
