Kasetstart University in Bangkok took the initiative to implement what it calls "anti-cheating helmets" on students to deter them from cheating during mid-term exams in 2013.
Soon after, the photo went viral causing a torrent of online comments ridiculing and criticizing the school's practice.
According to MSN, the University discontinued the practice but professor Nattadon Rungruangkitkrai told Agence France-Presse that it was implemented "for fun, relaxation and humor for the students." According to Rungruangkitkrai, students were asked before the implementation.
The photo appeared on Coconut Bangkok's Facebook page which curiously contains a similar second photo (down below) - this time of Thailand's Civil Aviation Authority allegedly.
Did they go a little bit too far?
