Could Cameroon superstar Samuel Eto'o be ready to rejoin Coach Jose Mourinho in Chelsea?
According to ESPN, the striker is prepared to leave Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala and has offers from high profile teams, and one of the clubs hinted at is Chelsea.
"There is only one Jose Mourinho. I have played under a lot of great coaches - but there is no other character in the game like Jose," Eto'o said, according to the Daily Mail. "He is one of the best coaches in the world - and we had a lot of success together at Inter Milan. I would like to have the chance to play under him again - because it is never boring when Jose is around."
Regarding Mourinho's current club Chelsea, he added, "Of course Chelsea are a great team - and when we have all the offers on the table then I will discuss with my agent and see what my next step is."
Eto'o played for Mourinho at Inter Milan and the duo won the Serie A, the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa Italiana and the Champions League trophy together.
Eto'o could be an attractive option for Mourinho should he be unable to obtain his preferred forward Wayne Rooney. The manager has repeatedly stated an interest in the Englishman and has vowed to fight for him until the end.
"We are doing things legally, making the official bid directly to the club, no interviews or comments or direct relations with the player, no contact, absolutely nothing. We are doing everything in an ethical way, so let's see if things change," he said, according to ESPN. "There is no time limit. We have our squad of strikers. We have identified the player as one we would like to have with us. We have done it in an ethical way and we are going to do that until the last day. And we will see how it comes."
