On Wednesday Wales will take on the Republic of Ireland in a friendly match filled with drama.
Gareth Bale will be the main focus of the game as a result of the ongoing transfer drama surrounding him. The Welsh star has reportedly shown up to train with the national side despite some ongoing injury troubles that have kept him away from his club Tottenham. It is unknown whether he will play on Wednesday against Ireland.
"We're pleased he wanted to be here," said Wales assistant manager Kit Symons about Bale. "He's too early in his recovery to be considered for the game but he was keen to be here and he will stay with the squad. We're pleased Tottenham were happy for him to be here and that shows the good relationship we have with the club and that they are confident he'll be looked after properly."
"I think he will play, he is a Welsh player and he is the best player in the team," said Republic of Ireland assistant manager Marco Tardelli. "If he wants the respect of the other players he must play...He is a very good player, at the moment he is up there with Cristiano Ronaldo and players of that caliber, and we saw this with what he did for Tottenham last season."
Prediction: Bale plays and leads his team to a 3-3 draw with a highly favored Irish side.
Start Time: 2:45 p.m. EST
The match will be not televised in the USA.
