Sherlyn took over hosting duties this week on Univision's hit Latino morning show "Despierta America." The young bombshell spoke of her recent engagement to Mexican politician Gerardo Islas and of a small "spiritual binding" ceremony they had in Bali.

"I'm very happy, and very much in love. I'm going through a very important moment in my life and I'm very happy to share it with you," the young Mexican actress said.

The actress also spoke of her experience during a recent trip to Bali. "When we were in Bali, I told Gerardo I wanted a Balinese blessing, and we were lucky to meet the king, Bapak Oka, when we were there and he arranged the small ceremony."

Islas also commented on the ceremony, "I had planned only to give her the ring, but things lined up, we met the King and he invited us to the palace and there they arranged for everything."

Sherlyn also shared her surprise on how she received her engagement ring. "In Bali we had a ceremony, it was very cute and at the ceremony we were all very nervous, we couldn't make out what was happening," she said, adding, "All of the sudden Gerardo told me I want [you] to be my wife and I was thrilled."

The actress also mentioned her plans for a lavish wedding that would have her wearing a "spectacular gown, looking like a princess" and the wedding itself would be "something huge, elegant and beautiful."

Sherlyn also spoke of her future plans to start a family and how she loves children. "I would love to have three or four. Yeah, I would love to have many children."

The couple is planning a civil ceremony to be held in the fall and a religuous one for the spring of 2014. "In October will have a civil wedding in Cancun and the religious ceremony will be held in March or April, but we are still defining the exact date. It will most likely take place in Puebla, where my fiancé is from," the 27 year old actress concluded.
