Summer is already on its way out. We may be engulfed in the peak of the summer heat, however, the season has passed its unofficial halfway point. Fall is right around the corner, which means winter is to follow. Fall serves as a precursor to the bitter winter months. But although you could say that winter is coming, it will still be sometime before Winter arrives.
"Game of Thrones" is currently in its long and tormenting offseason. Fans will have to suffer through their own winter before the impending Winter is back on course. In the meantime, news from the early stages of production on season 4 will help ail the woes of the "Game of Thrones" hiatus.
And who better to deliver the news than Jon Snow. Kit Harington, who plays the bastard child on the show, recently opened up about how his character's growing popularity among fans will translate in season 4. For starters, we're going to be seeing much more of Jon as he returns to the Night's Watch and faces a difficult crossroads.
"It's a big season for Jon Snow" Harington tells TVLine. "Without telling you what happens, it's a heavy action season... God, this is probably my biggest season to date. So I've got to live up to it and do right by Jon and do right by the books' fans."
"He's learning of his brothers' deaths and his stepmother's death - although they didn't get on - and he's learning of the Lord Commander's death," he adds. "On top of that, he's trying to get over the heartbreak of leaving Ygritte, and he's having to deal with the backlash from him leaving the Night's Watch."
As fans know, Jon isn't one to vocally express everything that's on his mind. So we may see him emotionally struggling throughout season 4, but never get a full explanation of what's behind the curtains.
"Jon doesn't really talk about his emotions. [He's] an interesting one to play - it's all internal," Harington said. "It's not an easy place for him at the start of the season."
"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO in the spring.
