More and more is pouring in from production on the ninth and final season of "How I Met Your Mother." The finale is served bittersweet. Season 9 will tie up all loose ends as the Mother is introduced to the gang one by one, but it also marks the end of an era. The show is regarded as one of the best and most popular comedy sitcoms of all time. After eight seasons, fans still can't get enough. They've been sitting and waiting through the summer months desperately waiting for its return. Now with several months remaining, they remain resilient, digging up any details they can on the final season.
Luckily for them, there's plenty to draw from. Recent insight into the season's third episode, "The Broken Code," hints that Ted will address his longing for Robin after their moment clasping hands in the rain during the season 8 finale.
"Ultimately, this is the story of Ted letting go of the wrong girl so he can be with the right girl," Bays said during an interview with TV Guide. "There's a few secrets floating out there that we know of and there may be more that we don't know of. The fun thing about a wedding is that it's just not the time or the place to air your dirty laundry. And yet there's a lot of dirty laundry and its' about to comes exploding out."
Bays leaves fans with much to ponder. What could that dirty laundry be? And how will it all come exploding out. Fans still speculate whether or not the Mother really is the right girl for Ted. The woman he should and deserves to be with is Robin. But that's impossible. Or is it? The show has been flirting with their romance since day one, despite her engagement to Barney. However, fans know the difficulties they've had tying the knot in the past, so could that be any indication that there is a chance for Ted after all? We'll just have to wait and see.
