Marvel Studios is set for the next eight years. The company's president Kevin Feige recently told WIRED that he was already planning for the year 2021.

"I could arguably say what we're planning for the year 2021," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said. "Will that happen? I don't know. But what we planned for 2015 in 2006 is happening."

"Five years ago, looking at our plan, we knew that if Avengers was going to work, the movies had to stand alone," Feige added. "Now we have to prove to the studio that we're more than just these five characters, these five franchises."

Marvel is owned by Disney; Lucasfilm and Pixar are among the other major companies owned by the conglomerate. Feige credits Disney for Marvel's terrific success.

"Disney has allowed us to be a relatively small, tight-knit brain trust," Feige said. "These billion-dollar ventures come down to 10 people or fewer in a room saying, 'You know what would be cool?'"

"Marvel's The Avengers" grossed a tremendous $623 million domestically; the third best grossing film of all time. Each of the three "Iron Man" movies grossed over $300 million in North America with the latest installment breaking the $400 million benchmark. The "Thor" and "Captain America" films each topped the $100 million mark handily.

Marvel is slated to deliver the "Avengers" sequel in 2015 but has a number of other films in store before. "Thor: The Dark World" arrives in November and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" arrives next year. The company is also slated to release "Guardians of the Galaxy" in 2015.

According to Box office Mojo, the company has three untitled films slated for 2016 and 2017. Many believe that the third "Avengers" movie could be the film slated for 2017.
