Ke$ha's new jewelry line is ballsy-- literally. The trashy-chic singer's new jewelry line features phallic-inspired designs that seem more befitting of doodles in an immature middle schooler's notebook than on a necklace. Yet, the surprising success of Ke$ha's new line has proven that diamonds aren't always a girls best friend. Apparently, many girls also love jewelry shaped like male genitalia and human teeth.
According to Time, Ke$ha's bizarre new jewelry line, which was launched August 1, is already selling out. The line is true to the wild singer's bizarre and often shocking persona. She is known for songs about partying, drinking, dancing and overall debauchery, which is reflected in the jewelry designs. The line, called 'Kesha Rose,' is part of the larger Charles Albert Collection.
The line features three mini-collections: a phallic-inspired line aptly named 'Grow A Pear' that features pendants, rings and earrings in the shape of penises; 'Warrior,' which offers necklaces and bracelets in the shapes of arrowheads and shark teeth; and Cannibal, designs modeled from human teeth sent in by Ke$ha fans. All of the designs are made from a fake 'zero karat gold' called Alchemia.
The lewd collection ranges in price from $15 to $600, and is enjoying immense popularity. Who knew that a penis on a gold chain was en vogue?
According to E! Online, Ke$ha thinks that the line is both wild and universal. "I have been wearing Charles Albert for a few years now and I'm obsessed with their jewelry," the singer said. "It's so fun, and massive, and makes such a wild statement. There will be something for everyone!" the star said in a statement about the collection.
Although many find the 'Tik Tok' singer's line vulgar, Ke$ha apparently knows what her fans want. The 'Grow A Pear' collection is selling like hotcakes; the gold-colored penis charm pendant on a chain, retailing for $20, is already sold out.
The jewelry may be shocking, but no one is surprised that it is a product of Ke$ha, the star known for making a headdress out of her fans' teeth.
If you do decide to don the now trendy phallic design, NY Magazine's The Cut gave a few tongue-in-cheek tips on how to wear it. For those who tan, make sure not to wear it on sunny days to avoid a genitalia-shaped tan line.
Although the penis pendant is sold out, there are still more crazy designs available for purchase. (For those who are brave enough, that is.)
