Google Android has seen an increase in its smartphone operating system market share across France, Germany, and Italy, according to Kantar Worldpanel's figures.

France:

While Android maintained its position as the top mobile platform in France, Microsoft's Windows Phone witnessed the most growth during the three months ending in June 2013.

Android saw an improvement of 2.6 percent for a total of 62.8 percent by the end of June this year.

Apple's iOS came in at No. 2 for the second consecutive year with a 4.7 percent increase in comparison to the same three months in 2012. By the end of June 2013, iOS accounted for 18.2 percent, up from last year's 13.5 percent.

Windows Phone's 6.7 percent increase was enough to topple BlackBerry for third place. Windows Phone managed to achieve 9 percent by the end of June. For the three months ending in 2012, it had garnered 2.3 percent.

BlackBerry saw the biggest decrease in France by 7.4 percent. The drop gave BlackBerry a fourth place slot with 2.4 percent. BlackBerry's finish was 0.2 percent higher than Symbian, which placed fifth.

Germany:

In Germany, all mobile operating systems but Android experienced a drop in the market share.

Android gained 5.5 percent in comparison to the three months ending in June 2012 to the same period in 2013. By the end of June this year, Android received 77.8 percent.

Apple's mobile platform maintained its second place position, but with a loss of 1.6 percent. iOS received 13.9 percent of the market share, down from last year's 15.5 percent.

Windows Phone managed to secure a healthy third place finish despite a 0.2 percent loss. The Microsoft mobile operating system finished the three months ending in 2013 with 5.9 percent.

Symbian and BlackBerry failed to reach 1 percent, respectively. Symbian dropped 2.8 percent for a 0.9 percent fourth-place finish. BlackBerry accounted for 0.5 percent.

Italy:

Similar to Germany, Android was the only major smartphone operating system to see an increase in the market share.

The Google mobile operating system saw an increase of 16.1 percent. The increase strengthened Android's first-place position with 70.7 percent of the market share.

iOS finished second with the least percentage drop compared to BlackBerry, Symbian, and Windows Phone, with 0.3 percent. iOS amassed 16.4 percent.

Windows Phone's third place position was possible despite the 0.5 percent drop in comparison to the three months ending in June 2012. Windows Phone finished June 2013 with 7.8 percent.

BlackBerry fell by 3 percent. Despite the decrease, it managed to jump to fourth place in Italy ahead of Symbian with 2.5 percent to Symbian's 2.3 percent.

Symbian's fifth place finish came as a reuslt of its highest percentage loss, dropping 10 percent.
