The war of words continues between Borussia Dortmund and discontented striker Robert Lewandowski.
Days after the forward announced his disappointment with his club, team manager Jurgen Klopp noted that he cares more for his player's production than the comments.
"For me what he does is a thousand times more important than what he says because what he does needs no interpretation," Klopp told reporters Saturday.
"Whatever is left to be discussed will be discussed internally," added Klopp. "The idea is to close this subject. Everything is in order. Nothing has changed since yesterday or the day before yesterday...I am convinced we will clear up everything in the coming days."
A few days ago, the Polish forward stated that he felt mistreated by his team.
"I was disappointed because people within the club said one thing to my face and then later it was different to what was agreed," the Poland international told publication Rzeczpospolita. "When I myself promise something then I keep my word. I was always fair towards the club, I always give 100 percent."
Lewandowski stated earlier this year that he wanted to move to Bayern Munich. However, he is signed until 2014 and Borussia Dortmund refused to give him away to its top rivals; Mario Goetze crossed the enemy lines earlier this season and put Borussia at a serious disadvantage.
Lewandowski has since continually stated his discontent over the current situation, while the club has remained steadfast in its desire to keep its top scorer.
Lewandowski tallied 24 goals in the German Bundesliga this season and also scored 10 times during his team's run to the Champions League final.
