Infamously troubled star Lindsay Lohan's life is an open door that shows every detail of her public descent into addiction. The media has pegged her as the poster-child-- although she is currently eclipsed by former child star Amanda Bynes-- for a former child star gone bad. She is known for dugs, partying and general instability, with her acting career taking a back seat to her obstreperous behavior. After a completing a 90-day court ordered stint in rehab, Lohan is trying to get her career back on track; she recently starred in the racy film "The Canyons." But before she can prove that she is reformed, she must face the ultimate judge: Oprah.

The 27-year-old actress sat down in Oprah's interviewee seat for "Oprah's Next Chapter." The show, which airs on Oprah's OWN network, gives an intimate look at the lives of celebrities, from Rihanna to Supreme Court judge Sonia Sotomayor. Oprah is known for asking tough questions, and it is no different for Lohan.

According to USA Today, a teaser was released for the interview that revealed Oprah asking Lohan hardball questions about her addictions.

"Are you an addict?" Oprah asks.

"What does it feel like to be both an adjective and a verb for child star gone wrong?" Oprah asks at another point in the interview.

The teaser did not show Lohan's responses.

In addition to the interview, Lohan will star in an eight-episode documentary series on OWN next year. The docu-series will chronicle her daily life as she tries to stay clean and focus on bettering herself physically and emotionally.

USA Today reports that Lohan is traveling everywhere with a sober coach who removes all the alcohol from the hotels where she is staying in an effort to commit to sobriety.

Although Oprah is a notoriously tough interviewer, she is known for caring about the personal troubles of her interviewees. She shows a similar empathy for Lohan, evidenced by the upcoming mini reality series that Oprah insists will show her in a different light.

According to Perez Hilton, Oprah said that the series will showcase a Lindsay that is "honest, authentic and ready."

The interview will air on OWN on Aug. 18 at 9 p.m.
