Eminem fans have been anxiously waiting for the iconic rapper to drop a new album since rumors emerged earlier this year that he would release his eighth studio record sometime in 2013. Now that its August, there's web gossip that Slim Shady will debut his LP sometime around Labor Day, reports MStarz.com, noting that the tentative Sept. 2 premiere date "remains unconfirmed hearsay."
Fortunately, as die-hard Slim Shady supporters keep their fingers crossed in hopes that he will debut some fresh tunes soon, there's a chance he'll perform some new tracks at the upcoming G-Shock 30th Anniversary Party.
According to Vibe, Eminem is set to grace the stage for G-Shock's "Shock The World" event in New York City this Thursday, where the digital watch company will celebrate its milestone anniversary at a top secret location.
Shady will rock the mic for the second year in a row alongside DJ Mick Boogie and Shady Records artist Yelawolf. In addition, James Marsden, Jessica Stam and Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez will make appearances as guest speakers.
According to inside sources, the Grammy Award-winning rapper is hoping to "tease" a bit of the album before its release. "He has a lot of dope tracks, but great music takes time," said an unnamed source, adding that "Fans need to be patient... it'll be worth the wait," reports Enstarz.
Eminem's fans will also get to see the rap icon perform along with Kendrick Lamar and Tyler, The Creator this month during his mini-tour in Europe, which kicks off Aug. 15. Here's where he's scheduled to play:
