Miles Teller is the front runner to play Mr. Fantastic in the upcoming "Fantastic Four" Reboot.
According to TheWrap, the "Spectacular Now" actor is being eyed to play Reed Richards in the 2015 reboot. Insiders revealed that Teller's CAA representative has met with director Josh Trank and said that the filmmaker wants Teller for the movie. Fox has already cautioned that the script is still being written and that the studio has not even brought on a casting director.
Teller would play the leader of the Fantastic Four, which also includes superhero siblings Sue Storm (Invisible Woman) and Johnny Storm (Human Torch), as well as Ben Grimm (The Thing).
Recent rumors pinned Michael B. Jordan ("Fruitvale Station," "Chronicle") to the character of the Human Torch. However, the rumors have yet to be confirmed.
In 2005, the "Fantastic Four" was released and grossed $154 million domestically. However, it received negative reviews. The second installment, 2007's "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," received better reviews, but bombed at the box office, making $131 million domestically. With the failure of the second installment Fox scrapped all scripts and ideas for a third installment.
Teller is best known for his work in "Rabbit Hole" in which he starred alongside Aaron Eckhart and Nicole Kidman. He was also seen in "Footloose," "21 & Over" and "Project X." He will next be seen in "Divergent" and in "Are We Officially Dating?"
Gregory Goodman and Matthew Vaughn are producing, with the script written by Jeremy Slater. The movie will shoot in Louisana in September and Fox will release the "Fantastic Four" reboot on March 6, 2015.
