The more superheroes, the better. They inspire hope. The set positive standards and serve as role models. Without heroes the world would be an even more dismal place than it already is. Real life heroes keep things in check, while those that dwell in the fantasy realm spark imagination and shape the lives of our youth. Now as The CW series "Arrow" gears up for its second season, it's adhering to the cries of fans and throwing even more magnificent heroes into the mix.
While Stephen Amell's Green Lantern will remain the show's primary protagonist, the new season will be introducing none other than The Flash. According to TVLine, Barry Allen will be arriving to Starling City while investigating a series of brutal killings he believes may have a connection to his mother's murder from years prior, for which his father unjustly rots in prison.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg informs fans "he's a great character who's going to affect all of [the] characters' lives." What's most exciting is the friction that will gnaw at Barry and Oliver as their relationship blossoms.
In addition to the introduction of the soon-to-be Flash, Executive produced Marc Guggenheim hinted that there would be at least two new bad guys to join the cast in the upcoming second season, although he didn't specify who exactly they would be. With the introduction of Isabel Rochev, Sebastian Blood and Bronze Tiger, the possibilities are endless.
"Our two Big Bads of the year, we know what their endgame and master plan is," Guggenheim said. "[They'll both] feel like they're acting from a righteous place. They will cross paths, and there's a Venn diagram in terms of their goals and in the diagram, there is overlap."
"Arrow" will return to The CW October 9.
