The fall will prove an endearing and successful season for The CW. In addition to the return of the hit series "The Vampire Diaries," other popular series will return to eagerly awaiting fans. They will take to the streets, singing and dancing in pure joy. It's been a long, grueling summer and there's still plenty more to go. The cool fall breeze and slew of good television couldn't come soon enough. Not to worry though, only two more months of unrelenting heat waves until we arrive in paradise. Sigh. Until then, at least there are new details on the network's biggest shows to keep our heads in the right place.
One of its shows in particular is quickly gaining popularity as it gears up for its second season. "Arrow," featuring Stephen Amell, has won the hearts of fans worldwide. Now in anticipation of its return, it's building hype by revealing intriguing and curious details from the set. Why stay quiet when you know that's what your fans want?
With every new season there must be new villains and "Arrow" is no exception. Executive produced Marc Guggenheim recently informed fans that there will be at least two new bad guys to join the cast in the upcoming second season, although he didn't specify who exactly they would be. With the introduction of Isabel Rochev, Sebastian Blood and Bronze Tiger, the possibilities are endless.
"Our two Big Bads of the year, we know what their endgame and master plan is," Guggenheim said. "[They'll both] feel like they're acting from a righteous place. They will cross paths, and there's a Venn diagram in terms of their goals and in the diagram, there is overlap."
The show will also be added a new hero. The DC comics' Flash will be joining the second season in anticipation of his own series coming to The CW. "We plan to introduce... the origin story of Dr. Barry Allen, one of Flash's multiple alter egos, during season 2 of 'Arrow,'" said CW president Mark Pedowitz. "We felt this was a very organic way to get [into the DC universe]."
Fans remain curious as to how Flash will perform in a the powerless world established in "Arrow," but showrunner Andrew Kreisberg clears up the confusion. "Part of the fun is for the audience is to go on that ride and see how we do our 'Arrow' take on the Flash legacy," he said. "Some of it will feel very familiar, and some will feel different."
"Arrow" will return to The CW October 9.
