Justin Bieber was busted for marijuana possession over the weekend after a small amount of pot was found on one of his tour buses during an U.S. border search Sunday night.
The bus was attempting to enter the U.S. from Canada via the Ambassador Bridge, according to Kenneth Hammond, chief officer and public affairs liaison for U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Detroit. During a secondary inspection, a police dog alerted authorities to the presence of drugs. Customs officers then found and seized a small amount of marijuana intended for personal use and drug paraphernalia, reports the New York Daily News.
However, the 19-year-old Canadian singer was not on the bus at the time, reports USA Today.
The bus driver was issued a civil penalty, and the bus and its passengers were then released, the border patrol spokesman said.
On Tuesday, the "Baby" crooner tweeted "I'm a lucky guy," which could have been referencing his narrow drug bust escape. After dodging the close call, the teen heartthrob went on to perform in Detroit later that evening as scheduled at the Joe Louis Arena.
In other news, the "Beauty and A Beat" recently reunited with on-again off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez. Bieber reportedly arrived at Selena's gypsy-themed birthday party in his leopard-print sports car just after midnight with a single red rose in his hand. According to reports, as soon as Selena saw Justin she immediately began crying. Their romance only heated up from there, as Selena rewarded him with some heavy PDA.
"They were definitely touchy-feely and shared some kisses and back rubbing," a source tells HollywoodLife.com, exclusively.
The party reportedly raged until about 2 a.m., after which Selena left to spend the night at Bieber's home in Calabasas, Calif, according to E!.
