Young Mexican model Daniela de Jesus has recenlty been elected the new face of Maybelline in New York.
"Our company is delighted to have Daniela with us, because she represents our positive spirit, energy and daring cosmopolitan fashion brand," Damien Bertrand, Global President of the cosmetics firm said in a statement.
"I've always seen Maybelline New York as an inventive makeup brand, that imposes trends," Daniela said in an interview with Mexican newspaper Reforma.
"I am proud to work with a company that loves women from around the world and I am proud to be the first Mexican that does this." Daniela said.
Daniela De Jesus was born in the beach town of La Paz, Baja California and she was discovered by the Major Model Management agency in 2005, after participating in that country's national contest Nuestra Belleza Mexico, where she ended up being eliminated in the first round.
Since then she has been on runways for different brands like Jean Paul Gaultier, Giambattista Valli, Vivienne Westwood, Marchesa, Mara Hoffman, Betsey Johnson and Alexandre Vauthier, among others.
De Jesus has also appeared in advertising campaigns for Emporio Armani, Victoria's Secret, Ralph Lauren Fragrances and Guess.
"I feel very happy to to be a good representative for Mexico. I'm always talking well of Mexico and telling people to visit the country and enjoy all its beauties," Daniela said.
The 27 year old model said that Maria Felix, the actress from Mexico's golden era, is the Mexican celebrity she admires the most. "Her style, her beauty and how she promoted Mexico's is what I would like to accomplish in my carreer, she did a lot for our country," she added.
Daniela also said that she likes to exercise, that she specially likes running and going to the gym every day to keep in shape. The model says she keeps beautiful by applying creams during the day and also at night. She also says that the best beauty tip for woman is to at least sleep eight hours every night for a radiant look.
Daniela will debut at the Maybelline New York campaigns, print and television, later this year.
