Mexican striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, is part of the new advertising strategy that Manchester United has launched in order to push sales for their new uniform for their upcoming season. "Chicharito" appears in the ad along with several of his teammates and his image is being promoted across all different platforms in England and abroad.

The prominent use of Chicharito as a central figure in Manchester United's new ads comes as a surprise to many after recent rumors that the young player would leave the team. The possibility of Chicharito leaving Manchester has intensified ever since Spanish team Valencia announced that they had sold their top scorer Roberto Soldado and were looking for a new forward that could replace him.

Sources close to the team reported that they were interested in Hernandez as a replacement and some sports sites claim that negotiations are underway for Chicharito to join Valencia as their main striker. Valencia have also shown interest in Manchester City's young forward John Guidetti, who would adjust better to the Spanish team's limited budget.

Chicharito is apparently unhappy with the amount of game play he had during last season when he was regularly benched and only played as a substitution in the last few minutes of some games. Apparently Chicharito also had a very close relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson, who has left Manchester this season after more than twenty five years as the team's head coach. Rumors from the Manchester camp say that new head manager David Moyes is a big fan of the Mexican player and would give him more time on the field.

Chicharito himself has not expressed publicly any desire to leave The Red Devils.

If Hernandez was to join Valencia he would play alongside fellow Mexican player, Andres Guardado, who said he would be thrilled if Chicharito were to join him at his team. "I hope Chicharito does in fact join us. Aside from the fact that he is also from Mexico, he is a great forward and he would contribute greatly to our offensive line."

In other Chicharito news, video game Company EA Sports announced this week that Hernandez will appear in the cover to their successful soccer franchise, FIFA 2014, alongside Argentinean soccer sensation Lionel Messi. Hernandez will appear by himself in an alternate cover for the Mexican marketplace as well.
