Summer is already on its way out. It may feel like we're still in the thick of unrelenting heat, however, slowly but surely, the days are getting shorter and the fall breeze approaches. As the summer days dwindle down, the members of SAMCRO ride out the beautiful lucid evenings towards the return of "Sons of Anarchy."
The hit series is now gearing up for its sixth and penultimate season. There's so much at stake that two seasons seems to be be severely insufficient, but creator Kurt Sutter remains optimistic with the current forecast. Now in a recent interview with Buzz Focus, he talks more about what the upcoming season has in store for the characters, especially Jax.
"We're on a trajectory now with these characters and their missions," Sutter said. "We really see Jax on that trajectory to 'Where's this club going to go? How am I going to lead this club?' and trying to have it all. Trying to have the family, trying to lead the club, trying to be the president."
It will certainly be a big season for Jax as he juggles his faltering relationships with rival clubs as well as the members of his own. His family is also on the verge of destruction as his violent side ebbs forward with Tara now in prison, and he isn't the only one feeling the strain on their relationship.
"It's a big season for Tara," Sutter said. "We've seen Tara struggle with the role of being in Jax's life and dealing with what the club does. And last season, for me, it was about her kind of jumping off the fence and deciding, 'Okay I'm going to be part of this life. This is what I'm going to do.' This season we see the ramifications of that. Can she be part of this life like Gemma is and escape all the things that go along with that? That will be part of her struggle and arc this season."
"Sons of Anarchy" will return to FX September 11.
