Round two of the group stage gets underway with a plethora of matches that could determine the tournaments of certain teams as soon as today.
Group A is still wide open after the opening round and features three teams looking for their first win and one looking to take a stranglehold on the group.
Senegal vs. Uruguay 12 p.m. EDT
Uruguay had an impressive showing in their first match with the United Arab Emirates. They fell behind before turning up the intensity and taking over the match and eventually winning 2-1. Nicholas Lodiero was the guiding force behind the victory and the South Americans will need him to repeat the performance to take down a confident Senegal team. However, the major X-factor for Uruguay must be Luis Suarez who was rather quiet in the opening match. He will need to be the dominant player from the 2010 World Cup to ensure his team plays at the level they are more than capable of playing at. With a win, Uruguay all but secures a berth into the next round.
Senegal beat the odds in an atmosphere that was against them as they tied the Great Britain squad with just eight minutes remaining to secure a point and reward their solid performance. Senegal has the speed and aggressiveness to take down Uruguay, especially considering the fact that the South Americans did not look their best against the UAE.
Prediction: Uruguay wins 3-2 in a back and forth affair. Suarez will show up for this one in a big way.

Great Britain vs. UAE 2:45 p.m. EDT
The home squad was just eight minutes from securing a win in their Olympic debut. They played a strong match against Senegal to open the tournament and probably deserved the victory. They will need to up their game against a United Arab Emirates team that knows that victory is the only thing they can afford at this stage. The UAE looked better than Uruguay early in the match but were eventually overpowered when the South Americans finally woke up. They know what is at stake and will likely take extra motivation knowing that they can disappoint an entire nation.
Prediction: A 2-2 Draw. It will be a wide open affair for most of the night.
