Storybrooke is about to get just a tad more magical. The ABC fantasy drama "Once Upon a Time" announced that Ariel, aka the Little Mermaid, would be visiting the sleepy New England town in the upcoming third season during its Comic-Con panel on Saturday.
The announcement was made in a small featurette, where Ariel is seen stealing a Dinglehopper from one of the dwarves in Storybrooke. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ballroom 20 "erupted in enthusiastic cheers" when fans caught a glimpse of Ariel's red hair and tail. TVLine reported that it has not been revealed who will be portraying the mysterious sea creature. You can catch a sneak peak of Ariel sneaking off with Grumpy's (Lee Arenberg) fork here.
While little was shared about the upcoming season of "Once," series co-creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz did talk about the gang's journey into Neverland to find Henry (Jared Gilmore). "We will be seeing a lot of Neverland and [some of its] different areas," Kitsis said. "Some, of course, will be those you remember from the book...It's a place where imagination comes from, and anything can happen."
As for the mysterious Peter Pan, Howowitz said he has "a complicated motivation," while Kitsis added, "He might be frightening. To some people." The pair also teased that Peter Pan's sidekick, Tinker Bell, will have "a surprising connection" to someone in the cast-and it's not Captain Hook.
According to TVLine, Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) may be trying to shy away from being evil for Henry's sake, but she won't be done killing. "My favorite kill is coming up in season 3," Parrilla said during the panel. "It really is."
In other "Once" news, many fans have been wondering if a Hook-Emma romance is in the works. While the cast has remained coy about the issue in the past, Emma portrayer Jennifer Morrison teased, "We just shared a drink recently so..." THR reported that Colin O'Donoghue (Hook) added it might be time for his character to get a new love.
