A man was arrested in front of the home of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Beacon Hill in Boston on Sunday.

Secret Service officials spotted Vladimir Romanov of West Roxbury taking pictures of the luxurious five-bedroom, 8,286-square-foot home of the former Democratic presidential candidate.

The Secret Service personnel told local police about the suspicious man. Romanov was interviewed by police officials, who also found an open alcohol container and a pellet gun inside the car of the 29-year-old man. He was apprehended by the authorities for possession of an alcohol container.

According to an Associated Press report, Romanov told officials that he was taking pictures of Kerry's home for a friend and admitted later that he had been drinking when police asked him to drive his vehicle away.

Kerry's spokesman Glen Johnson also confirmed the incident, saying that Romanov was caught taking a picture of a window of the Secretary of State's home.

"Members of the State Department Diplomatic Security Service observed a man taking a picture of a window in the Secretary's Boston home," said Johnson, who added that Kerry was not home during the incident.

According to Johnson, Kerry, who was appointed by President Barack Obama as the new Secretary of State earlier this year, was visiting his wife when the incident happened.

Kerry's wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, is currently confined at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital where she is currently being treated after suffering a seizure last week that required her to be hospitalized.

The Boston Globe reported that the cause of Heinz Kerry's seizure is still unknown, but doctors have already ruled out stroke, heart attack, and brain tumors, and her condition has already been upgraded from fair to good.

The Globe also reported that investigations are still ongoing and police declined to release more information, saying that they are still in the process of drafting a complete incident report.

Romanov is set to be arraigned on Monday for the alcohol possession charges against him and is also expected to be questioned further about his suspicious acts on Sunday afternoon.
