With WBC and WBA Light Middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez already training for his highly-anticipated showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr., Canelo's camp believes their prized fighter has the tools to stop Mayweather for the first time in his career, and usher in a new era in boxing at the same time.

Alvarez, who's currently training in Big Bear Lake at a cabin owned by Sugar Shane Mosley, said he's excited for what he called the biggest fight in his career and assured his fans he would give everything during fight night.

Chepo Reynoso, the lead trainer for Canelo, said he's excited to start the training camp because it's going to be a new era in boxing.

"Floyd Mayweather is a legend, a king for a longtime. His kingship has ended and it's time for Canelo to step up and be a legend," Chepo said in an interview with ESNews reporter Elie Seckbach (video below).

Alvarez, who has yet to suffer a loss in his 42 career fights, promised a knockout win against Mayweather when the two undefeated boxers meet face-to-face in the ring on Sept. 14 at MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.

Considered as one of the hardest hitters in boxing today, Canelo boasts 31 knockouts around his belt. He's also coming off a victory against former WBA champ Austin Trout via unanimous decision last April.

On the other hand, Mayweather is looking to preserve his immaculate record in the second fight of his lucrative six-bout deal with Showtime.
