In anticipation for Comic-Con, Marvel has released concept art for its new film "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."
The newly released poster gives audiences a chance to see the villain in the upcoming film and the challenge the superhero icon will face. The picture shows "The Winter Solider," or Bucky Barnes, facing off against Captain America (aka Steve Rogers). The plot assumably continues after the first film and is about the Winter Soldier, Bucky, who is revived after dying in "Captain America: The First Avenger." Bucky returns with a bionic arm that is capable of destroying Captain America's shield. Additionally, the force of the Winter Soldier will test Captain America's powers.
Marvel will show segments from the film at Comic-Con and is expected to also reveal some battle sequences. Additionally, cast members Chris Evans ("Fantastic Four"), Scarlett Johansson ("The Prestige"), Samuel L. Jackson ("Django Unchained") and Hayley Atwell ("The Duchess") are expected to show up at the exposition.
The new installment is directed by the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, and was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
"Captain America: The Winter's Soldier" is part of the second phase of Marvel's "The Avengers." It will lead up to the second Avengers movie, which is slated for release in 2015. Other phase two films include "Thor: The Dark World," and "Iron Man 3"
The new movie is slated for release on April 4, 2014 and also stars Cobie Smulders ("Safe Haven"), Robert Redford ("The Company You Keep"), Anthony Mackie ("The Hurt Locker"), Dominic Cooper ("The Duchess"), Sebastian Stan ("Black Swan"), Emily VanCamp ("The Ring Two") and Toby Jones ("The Girl").
