The upcoming season of ABC's hit magical drama "Once Upon a Time" is still weeks away but new details regarding new cast members and interesting plot developments have slowly made their way to fans. The show, which is entering its third season, will be splitting its time between several locations, with the magical land of Neverland taking center stage.
With a new venue comes new characters and the show will not disappoint. As previously reported, ABC is in the midst of casting the key roles of Peter Pan and Rufio (the teenage leader of the lost boys). Fans also received word that the show will most likely be casting someone to play the role of Tinker Bell.
Earlier this week, TV Guide's William Keck spilled, "With the action moving from Storybrooke to Neverland in Season 3, Peter Pan's favorite fairy is expected to play a significant role. In keeping with 'Once' tradition, viewers will discover that Tink shares a surprising connection to one of the regulars."
It seems that TVLine's Michael Ausiello now has more details of the tiny Neverland fairy. When asked if the rumors about Tinker Bell were true, Ausiello said, "I'll answer that question by describing to you the new character of Violet and letting you draw your own conclusions. How about that?"
"Vi is a mischievous twentysomething whose penchant for troublemaking belies the heart of a true survivor. (Interesting side note, especially for Hook if she is Tinker Bell: She never lets a slight go unpunished!)," Ausiello continued.
Could Tink be one of Hook's past love conquests? Or could they be connected in some other way?
In other "Once" news, the cast is heading to the San Diego Comic Con next week to discuss the upcoming season. TVLine reported that although actress Lana Parrilla (Evil Queen/Regina) wasn't initially scheduled to appear, she will participate at the show's panel after all. The cast is schedule to appear in the panel on Saturday, July 20.
Speaking of Regina, TVLine reported that it looks like she just might get a love interest this season. Series co-creator Adam Horowitz told TVLine, "We may find out that perhaps, just perhaps, there is a special someone out there for Regina." Wonder who it can be.
ABC has yet to release information on the show's season premiere date, although it is expected to return on Sundays.
