Panama and Martinique will look to take an upper hand in Group A when the two clubs meet on Thursday in their second CONCACAF Gold Cup group match.

The stakes are as high as they could ever be for either club. The winner of this match automatically has six points and one foot in the door to the knockout rounds. With Mexico and Canada facing off, it is likely that El Tri will get a much needed three points to get back in the race. A draw here would give either side minimal breathing room heading into the final group match.
A win is of greater importance to Martinique, as it will face Mexico in its final match. With six points, Martinique could play for a draw and assure itself of first place. With a loss against Panama, the team would need to defeat Mexico to earn second place in the group.
A draw between Mexico and Canada paints a better portrait for both sides, as they can each play for a draw in their final matches to get through to the next round.
Prediction: These two clubs know what is on the line. Look for the match to open with great intensity from both sides as one looks for the upper hand. However, Panama will eventually exert its superiority and pull off a 2-1 win.
