Summer is well underway. July 4th has come and gone. Soon enough, the sun will begin to set earlier, the days will become brisk, kids will pack their bags and climb the bus, and the masses will prepare for the onslaught of winter. And then, before you know it, it's back. The summer sun peaks its rays over the horizon once again. The snow melts, the flowers bloom and the bees bustle and buzz.
But sun and impending summer heat won't be the only thing making warming our bodies and souls. With summer 2014 comes the arrival of the film adaptation of "50 Shades of Grey." Fans eagerly wait its debut, which will be here much sooner than it seems. It's right around the corner. A year is nothing. It's a blink of the eye. Now that it's approaching, one would think author E. L. James and director Sam Taylor-Johnson would take haste with their casting deliberations. There are handfuls of qualified candidates to play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, but still, the top dogs have yet to make up their minds, leaving hands high, dry and frustrated. One contender in particular, who continually tops fan polls and generates fervent "50 Shades" buzz, is back at it again, wetting fans appetites for the film that's sure to bring more heat than the blazing summer sun.
"The Vampire Diaries" heartthrob Ian Somerhalder has been a top pick for Mr. Grey since the beginning. Time and time again he's grabbing the attention of hungry fans, and this time is no exception. In a recent photo shoot with Butch Hogan, Somerhalder cleared himself of any inhibition, as well as his clothes. He's featured both in the bathtub and the bed, sparking the curiosity of "50 Shades" fans worldwide. Check them out here.
If James and Taylor-Johnson catch a glimpse at the photos and aren't immediately persuaded to make a decision, then they probably never will.
