After fighting with Televisa, William Levy threatened to quit the new telenovela "La Tempestad."

According to producer Salvador Mejia, Levy wanted to exit the series because the studio did not allow his nephews to enter the facilities. Mejia revealed that he had never seen an actor get so furious on set and had never seen behavior so radical as Levy's. The producer confirmed that the Cuban stormed out off set leaving production in the midst of shooting. However he forgave the actor because Levy had worked various hours the day before and was tired. He added that Levy was shooting commercials the day before and could not see his family. On Monday Levy tried to invite his relatives to the set of "La Tempestad" to spend time with them but Televisa did not authorize it. Mejia added that Levy had not seen them in years and they were coming from Miami.

Mejia admitted that he had to send for legal support to verify that the telenovela superstar had violated his contract and could be punished economically for his actions. The producer continued by stating that many people from the production have already said they do not want to continue working with Levy.

A few days ago "Formula Espectacular" reported that writer Liliana Abud demanded Levy's immediate dismissal because Levy has not been respectful of her work and did not follow directions on set. Abud even requested that Argentine Sebastian Rulli replace the actor.

Levy has hit headlines throughout the making of "La Tempestad." He was criticized for his long haircut as well as his Cuban Accent. Producers reportedly requested that he take acting classes because he lacked chemistry with his co-star Ximena Navarrete. Levy later defended himself on Twitter and said he was doing the best work possible.

"La Tempestad" airs in the US in July on Univision.
