In the midst of a very colorful environment, Ninel Conde offered a free concert at the Gay Pride XXXV Parade that took place on Sunday in Mexico City's most important avenue, Paseo de la Reforma.
The singer performed a string of hits, including her famous single "Bombon Asesino," and showed off her dance moves on a special stage located behind Mexico's Angel of Independence monument.
Ninel voiced her support for the gay movement and for the parade. The singer-actress told the crowd how happy and grateful she was for the affection she's received from the gay community over the years. Conde said she felt like she was with family, and she took a minute to exalt the importance of the campaign "Safe Sex," which promotes the use of condoms. Conde is one of the main spokeswomen for the campaign, along with actress Ariadne Diaz, who was also part of the activities during the day.
Conde told the crowd that safe sex campaigns were important because they prevent unwanted situations and ailments, "I think it's important to talk about these issues, I must say that the gay community has always supported me and respected me a lot and this is my way to give back to them a little."
According to official estimates from Mexico City police, about 50,000 people took part of the gay pride parade on Sunday, which made city officials close down a godd number of important city streets and avenues towards the historic downtown area.
The actress was most recently seen in the Televisa remake of the Colombian telenovela "El Secretario," which was called "Porque El Amor Manda" and also starred Fernando Colunda and Erick Elias. Conde only recently revealed to Televisa's gossip program "Hoy" that she will be one of the judges of Univision's dancing program "Mira Quien Baila" at the end of the year and that it will be recorded in Miami. The Mexican star will be part of a campaign to revitalize the image of Acapulco alongside her alleged ex, legendary singer Luis Miguel.
