"Nashville" continues to revel in the wake of its first season success. Although the series is in its infant stages, fans are still grappling with the long wait ahead until the season 2 premiere. Luckily, not all is lost. There are still plenty of small details that keep fans at bay, and it's the little things that count.
In recent news, Michael Ausiello from TVLine poses an interesting question, which he then promptly answers. So what about the two new characters bound for the Music City?
"The first, Zoey, is Scarlett's childhood best friend who wants to make it as a singer. She'll take the blonde's old waitressing gig at The Bluebird," says Ausiello. "The second, Layla, is the winner of an 'American Idol'-type music competition who's so driven to be a country star that she downplays her Northeastern roots, high level of education and stable family life. This youngin' (she's about 20) comes across as sweet at first, but her darker side will show itself over time. Both roles are heavy recurring... which makes me think Juliette might want to release her follow-up single real fast."
Thing's just keep on getting worse for the young starlet (played by Hayden Panettiere). In the first season, she struggled with her mother's death and the stress of a blossoming career. Now with the presence of new, "dark" competition, her world continues to spiral down.
"I don't know if we'll ever see a time when she's not screwing up something for herself," said creator Callie Khouri tells TV Guide, specifically citing her love life. "Having to fend for herself all the time, she has some serious trust issues."
Between juggling the loss of her mother, the threat of a new rising star and a faltering love life, the future looks gloomy for Juliette, but only time will tell.
"Nashville" will return to ABC in October.
