Mexican state of Baja California Deputy, Rubén Alanis Quintero, is embroiled in controversy after a video where he can be allegedly heard maintaining a conversation with a minor was published.

He was accused on Twitter and Facebook of being a "pederast" and a "homosexual" .

In the video, illustrated with still photographs and broadcasted over the weekend, the Deputy for the Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) can be allegedly heard talking to a 15-year-old male he identifies as his "boyfriend". The politician reported the incident for "slander" and "defamation".

Alanís Quintero currently coordinates the campaign of Francisco "Kiko" Vega de Lamadrid, candidate for governor of Baja California, and also works at the PAN fraction in Congress, so he attributed the attack to his political opponents in the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).

An audio of the conversation was first published in a blog and quickly went viral. In the recording, Alanís Quintero and his alleged boyfriend argue over a photo on Facebook. Then, both express mutual love and praise their relationship.

On a Facebook post, titled "Rubén Alanís Reports Difamation and Slander", the Deputy stated the video was "obviously fake", but he didn't deny that the voice heard in the recording is his.

This is not the first time that Alanis is involved in similar situations, newspaper El Mexicano reported.  In 2011, he was caught with a minor in the bathroom of a store in the city of Mexicaly and then was seen with a man in the parking lot of a supermarket. In both cases, the police intervened but no charges were pressed.
