Fans have long awaited the return of "Grimm," and unfortunately, the wait persists. Season 3 doesn't premiere until fall, but there are plenty of details to keep anxious fans content during the long summer months. The most recent "Grimm" rumors hint at a season that's, well, rather grim.

As the season 2 finale indicates, season 3 will host a new threat: zombies. Now that Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) is a flesh eater, fans are eager to see how he'll fit into series as it moves forward. In a recent interview with Zap2it, Giuntoli opened up about where season 3 will take his character and the rest of the cast.

"I have to come back with the same haircut and the same exact weight just to make it seem like three months hadn't passed between the finale and the premiere," he said in regards to where the new season will pick up. "I would imagine it picks up right where we started. I have no idea, honestly, where this is going to go. I don't know it it's going to go to Europe - there's been talk of that."

Giuntoli went on to talk about his newly zombified character. "I know that I'm probably going through the whole zombie thing where I go ape**** and get very violent."

Digressing somewhat, Giuntoli also commented on the pleasure he gets from doing unusual things on the show. "One of the great things about 'Grimm,' and a lot of our guest stars have said this, is you come in and you get to do something that you're never going to do again in your entire career. I've been blinded, I've fought blind -- for one episode, I'm blind. I think that's kind of rare. I've been under the spell of a muse so I was sexually just driven to kill for this woman a couple episodes back. It is fun as an actor to get to kind of do these very out there momentary roles. ... I'm definitely looking forward to playing a zombie for a little while an seeing where this storyline takes us."

"Grimm" will return to NBC this fall.
