Fans of NBC's "Parenthood" have been eager to find out just what the producers have in store for their favorite family in season five.
Of course, fans have been particularly curious to find out what the future holds for dysfunctional Sarah (Lauren Graham) and the many men in her lives, including her latest love interest Hank (Ray Romano). Well the wait for news on the twosome is over. According to Deadline, Romano will reprise his role in 12 to 15 episodes of the full 22-episode order.
Romano's return was up in the air as recently as the ATX Television Festival, where EP David Hudgins told TVLine, "We're currently discussing it. I love Ray Romano and thought he was so good on the show last year...He's great in that part and he works hard. He doesn't just show up and do his [scenes]; he actually researched the character."
Fans first met Romano's character Hank in season four, where he played the Sarah's grouchy photographer boss who ended her engagement with Mark (Jason Ritter). Viewers last saw Hank as he was leaving for Minnesota after asking Sarah to move with him.
Although Sarah's love life took center stage last seasons, fans are warned that won't be the case in the upcoming fall season. Hudgin's told TVLine, "We definitely want to set Sarah on a path. " He added, "There is a very conscious effort on our part to set Sarah on a path that will really let her shine-and in conjunction with that, she may still have some love interests."
"Parenthood" will return to NBC on Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST this fall.
