The summer months drag on, and so does production on the third season of "American Horror Story." As the season 3 premiere approaches, the cast and crew are hard at work piecing together the various components that should make "Coven" one of the best seasons to date.
Spoiler TV now reports that two new guest roles will appear in the premiere episode, but it's unclear as to whether or not they'll stick around for the rest of the season. The two characters include "a male college student who's a jerk" and "a charming Asian doctor named David Zhong."
Although there's very little known about the two new arrivals, it's important to note that they're both male. "Coven" is dominated by a female cast, so whenever a male is thrown into the mix, it's important to take note.
As previously reported, there will be at least one more male other than Evan Peters to join the season 3 cast as a series regular. At the time, the show was casting the role of Hank, a handsome, blue-collar husband of one of the witches. TV Line speculated that he would be married to either Lily Rabe or Sarah Paulson, given his thirty-something age.
It's confirmed that more testosterone is on its way, but it's unclear as to who will play the new arrival. So who will be joining veteran Evan Peters as the second male? Well a recent series of tweets from Sarah Paulson and J. August Richards may hint at the answer.
Richards, from "Angel," tweeted at Paulson, saying, "I can't wait to work with @MsSarahPaulson again ...!!!" to which she responded, "Hey @JAugustRichards I can't wait to work with YOU again!!" on May 22.
Richards may have realized his potential mistake, and in order to halt potential rumors, added, "@MsSarahPaulson Sorry, so random. But so REAL!" to which Paulson later wrote, "I feel the same way!"
Nothing is conclusive, yet it's curious nonetheless. Their conversation stems back to a 2010 episode of "Grey's Anatomy," where to two actors initially worked together. Paulson played a young Ellis Grey while Richards starred as young Richard Webber in the episode "The Time Warp."
"American Horror Story" will return to FX in the fall.
