It's been a long, bloody run, but the hit television series "Dexter" has reached its final chapter. After eight long seasons, fans will finally uncover more of Dexter Morgan's past as all loose ends are tied up. Now with episode 1 only a couple weeks away, fans are looking forward to what they can expect from the premiere.
Season 8 will pick up roughly six months later from where season 7 left off. Episode 1 will catch up with the characters and show where their lives have taken them since last season's finale.
"Deb has left the police force and gone into private security. It has been at least a month since Dexter has seen her, and a few weeks since they last spoke. She has fallen off the map. Deb is in a downward spiral of epic proportions. Dexter is worried about her and begins risking himself in order to save her. But Deb doesn't want to be saved," FEARnet reports.
Fans have also known for some time that Charlotte Rampling would play visiting neuropsychiatrist Dr. Evelyn Vogel, arriving to assist Miami Metro with a case, but now new information reveals more about her fixation with Dexter Morgan.
As previously reported, Vogel created the "code" that Harry Morgan bestowed on Dexter as a guideline to his murderous exploits. Not only that, but she arrives in Miami asking for his assistance after becoming the target of the department's newest serial killer, "The Brain Surgeon."
Zap 2 It also revealed that "The Brain Surgeon" removes the part of his victims' brains that process empathy, which provides a clue as to who he may be. The site also reports, in a completely unrelated context, that there will be a new couple that will surprise fans.
The eighth and final season of "Dexter" will return to Showtime on Sunday, June 30.
