"300: Rise of an Empire" has got everybody buzzing about it and fans just can't wait to finally see the movie that took almost eight years to be released.

"300 Rise of an empire YES HERE COMES THE LONG AWAITED SEQUEL," tweeted @MXWittawat about the upcoming Warner Bros. sequel.

The first sneak peak to the new film set to be released on March 7, 2014 had created a stir of emotions when it was released during the screening of the newest Superman movie, "Man of Steel." People started talking about it on social media sites and the outpour of support for the new film has been incredible.

"The one movie that I can't wait to see," posted one fan on Twitter.

"I just really do not want to wait until next March to see 300: Rise of an Empire. It just looks so good," tweeted another fan.

"Best of the best," wrote one fan on the film's Facebook page.

According to Movie Pilot, the film was dubbed as a "spin-off" and is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the hit, "300." It follows the success of the first film off the comic book series that was released in 2006.

Gaining such a huge following, many of the fans have been eagerly waiting for the return of the series to the big screen for over seven years now. And so when rumors started circulating about a follow up, they were searching the internet and waiting for any news that would be released about the film.

Filling in the shoes for Zack Snyder, "300: Rise of an Empire" will be directed by Noam Murro, who told MTV that the new film will have the same amount of blood and high tech effects to bring the perfect feel of battle to the fans, or even better.

"The idea was always to create a point of reference of the old movie, but technologically and visually push it further up the hill," Murro told the site. "I think we've pushed it from a visual spectacle uphill, but the roots of this tree are grounded in the '300' world. We wanted to create different styles of battles, and there are very distinct ones in this movie. There's the fire battle and the fog battle."

"Excited to see up and coming director Noam Murro with '300: Rise of an Empire' (2014) - he had some phenomenal halo commercials," tweeted a fan.

The new film will hit theaters on March 7, 2014.
