Mexican pop sensation Maite Perroni is ready to launch her new solo album, featuring her first single "Tú y Yo," which seeks to consolidate her career among the Latino audience after her success as a singer and actress with mexican teen pop group RBD.
The album, which is produced and written by Koko Stambuk, was recorded in New York City, and consists of a total of 13 songs in Spanish that promise to go down well with Hispanic audiences across Mexico, the United States and Latin America.
In an exclusive interview with Latinos Post that took place in May, Maite Perroni talked about her new album, being single, and how she keeps in touch with her former RBD bandmates.
LP: How do you feel in New York? Do you miss Mexico? Tell us about your experience so far.
Maite Perroni: "I always miss my home country when I am away but this new phase requires that I concentrate here in New York. This city motivates you much, it inspires you and the people here are very supportive, fans come everywhere with me."
During the interview, Perroni said that she has led a quiet life during her stay in New York and that in her short time there she has managed to move about easily in the subway and the streets of the city
"I go to the supermarket, go to movies, go out to eat with my friends, I live a very ordinary life, I do what any person does," the singer told Latinos Post.
LP: Can you give us any details on your new album?
MP: "We still do not have a name for it, and will have a first single ready to be released in the last week of May, which is a surprise we're preparing."
The single will be released to the public via a Hangout session on the singer's Google+ profile, on Monday, June 17. The single will then be available on Mexico's main radio stations and through digital platforms across the globe.
During the hangout fans will be able to make all the questions about everything they have always wanted to know about Maite, while the singer shares her great experience living and working in New York on this new album.
