Three tornadoes have been reported to hit the Baltimore area of Maryland on Monday. According to the National Weather Service, the tornados touched down near Fork which falls under Baltimore County; Locust Point, located in South Baltimore; and Coltons Point in St. Mary's County.

The information, posted on the National Weather Service's website on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, afternoon, stated that all the three tornadoes were of weak nature, rating EF-0 on the Fujita scale. The wind speeds were reported as ranging between 65 mph and 80 mph.

Aside from the three tornadoes confirmed by the weather service, a number of these violent winds were also reported in the Woodbine area of Howard County and Charles County.

No casualties have been reported from Monday's tornadoes.

According to Ken Widelski, an emergency response meteorologist for the National Weather Service, officials are now reviewing the tornado which was reported to hit Woodbine Road in Western Howard.

"We look for rotation, and you're looking at the damage," Widelski explained as reported by the baltimoresun.com. "If you have trees folded over, that's from straight-line winds. If you have trees snapped in different directions, that could be indicative of a tornado."

Media reports say the tornado in Fork touched down around 3:28 p.m. and stayed for 2 minutes with an estimated wind speed of around 70-80 mph. Among the damage reported from the area are six trees which were uprooted from Mount Vista Estates subdivision.

The reports also reveal that the tornado in Locust Point touched down around 3:44 p.m. with an estimated wind speed of 80 mph. The tornado damaged Maryland Port Administration cargo warehouse's metal roof. Damages were also reported to a nearby office which had its air conditioning system blown away.

Notably, the St. Mary's tornado, which was reported to hit the area at around 9 p.m., had comparatively slow winds of just 65 mph.

Dennis Davison, a 62-year-old Woodbine resident, aslo said his family saw a tornado near Starting Gate Court around 7 p.m.

"There was a roar like a freight train," said Davison. "We ran to the front door and saw a funnel cloud with debris 100 feet in the air. It only lasted 30 seconds."

The National Weather Service had issued seven tornado warnings to the Maryland residents on Monday.
