Really, who hasn't seen at least one of the "Jurassic Park" series?
Now, the buzz is that "Jurassic Park 4" is on its way to movie theaters. Though its original release date was said to be targeted for June 2014, recent reports say fans may need to wait a bit longer for the fourth installment.
Unlike the first three "Jurassic Park" hits directed by Steven Spielberg, the fourth is confirmed to be directed by Colin Trevorrow of the 2012 film "Safety No Guaranteed." Speculations about Steven Spielberg refusing to be a part of the production team because the script was allegedly "crap" went on the news for some time. But Trevorrow and other members of Universal were quick to dispel all rumors.
In an official statement released by Universal in May, the production company explained why the film's release was pushed back hoping to silence rumors of creative friction within the team:
"In coordination with filmmakers, Universal has decided to release 'Jurassic Park 4' at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal's beloved franchise. We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise's storied history."
But nothing seems to dampen fans' spirits as movie-goers worldwide await the final release date of the movie. Today, topics continue to trend on what the storyline will be: are they returning to Isla Nublar where it all started. Will it star original actors like Laura Dern? Or will we expect even better computer graphics? Let's wait and see.
The first "Jurassic Park" was based on a 1990 novel by Michael Crichton. The film was a turning point in the use of computer-generated imagery on the big screen, raking in not only countless positive reviews worldwide, but also a whopping $900 million taking the spot as the highest grossing film during that time.
