Winter is no longer coming. It's officially summer. The season 3 finale of "Game of Thrones" airs this Sunday. It seems like yesterday that fans around the world bundled up on their living room couches to share some bloodshed and dragons with their families. The finale is just two days away, and for those eager fans that simply cannot wait, here's what you can expect from the dramatic season 3 conclusion.
First, based on the preview, we know that Joffrey challenges the mighty Tywin, who tells him that the crown doesn't give him power. Joffrey's outburst could be in response to Tyrion's comments towards the young king after he asks for the head of Robb Stark to serve to Sansa. Tyrion calls Joffrey a monster, Joffrey threatens to cut Tyrion's tongue out, and Tywin steps in to cool things off, claiming that he will run the kingdom while Joffrey sits high on the throne, unsurprisingly upsetting the little monster.
And what about across the Narrow Sea? In the preview we see Dany with her army and dragons prepared for battle. According to the book, Yunkai then agrees to release all of their slaves rather than fight. In the official synopsis, Daenerys is waiting to see if she is a "conqueror or a liberator," which is reflected in her interaction with Yunkai. The episode is titled "Mhysa," which signifies mother in the language spoken in Yunkai. As Dany releases the slaves, they cry "Mhysha," proving that Dany chooses to show off her liberator side.
Meanwhile, Jaime Lannister will most likely make it back to Kings Landing safely, Ygritte fires a bow into Jon Snow's leg as the Wildings close in on the Stark bastard son, and Arya finally gets some much deserved revenge.
This is speculation based on what is shown in the preview and described in the synopsis and how it all coincides with the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series. The season finale of "Game of Thrones" airs this Sunday, June 9, on HBO.
