Star forward Aldo de Nigris has left the Rayados of Monterrey to become a part of the Chivas of Guadalajara in Liga MX's next season.

"Fans. It's OFFICIAL, Chivas has aquired Aldo De Nigris," the club posted on their Twitter account Wednesday.

De Nigris is a member of Mexico's National Team and last Tuesday, scored the goal with which Mexico beat Jamaica 1-0 in the elimination rounds for the 2014 Brazil World Cup.

In Monterrey, he formed an explosive duo with Chilean Humberto Suazo, becoming one of the league's most dynamic players.

Liga MX officials confirmed the transfer, arguably the most important one so far in the 2013 draft.

The signing of De Nigris came as a welcomed surprise for Chivas fans after they had announced that legendary striker Omar Bravo would be joining the team, but soon after the deal fell through.

Atlas President, Eugenio Ruiz Orozco, met with President of Chivas, Dennis Te Kloese, who informed him that they will not transfer Bravo, although in recent days it had been taken for granted that he would again be playing for Guadalajara.

"Omar Bravo is going to stay in Atlas to fulfill his contract," Orozco told Kloese, according to Mediotiempo.com

Guadalajara announced Wednesday that Bravo would return to the club after negotiations with Cruz Azul, who owns the card of the player that was loaned to Atlas since last tournament.

The new coach of Atlas, the Argentine Omar Asad, said the team already has a role in mind for the 33-year-old striker who scored seven goals during the last tournament.

The other major transfer that happened during the 2013 draft was America, the current Mexican soccer champion, confirming that forward Luis Gabriel Rey of Queretaro will be reinforcing the squad as of now.

In another major changes already confirmed by the Liga MX offcials, Joao Rojas leaves Monarcas Morelia to join Cruz Azul, a team that was one step away from achieving the title in the 2013 Clausura and Duvier Riascos will be leaving Xolos of Tijuana to join the Tuzos of Pachuca.
