Production on the fourth season of "The Walking Dead" is now well underway. Details from the set have slowly been trickling down into the public's hands. Here's a brief overview of all the recent spoilers: it's going to be the best season yet. Now this may sound like any old generic hype, but as more cast interviews are revealed, it sounds like season 4 of "The Walking Dead" really will be something special.
Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, previously informed fans that episode 1 would kick off the season with a bang, and now in a new radio interview with Sirius XM, he assures fans that there's plenty more to follow.
"The scripts this season are just amazing," Reedus said. "The sets are crazy. It feels like we've shot about three movies already. It's super intense, and everything's for a reason, a specific reason, and it's great right now." "The Walking Dead" crew has been filming for nearly a month now, and everyone involved is overjoyed with the way things are going.
Reedus went on to compliment the new showrunner, Scott M. Gimple, who took the reins from Glen Mazzara in the wake of season 3. "As far as the internal group, we're all the same people, but the structure of the writing's a bit different, and it's so intense," Reedus said. "These are our best scripts yet."
In other "Walking Dead" news, although not pertaining to the upcoming season, the entire third season is now available on Blu-ray and DVD. It's available in a 5-disc set in each format and contains all sixteen episodes from season 3. Like any Blu-ray and DVD release, is comes chock full of bonus features, including behind-the-scenes footage, never-before-seen featurettes, audio commentaries from the cast and crew, deleted scenes and much more.
"The Walking Dead" will return to AMC on Sunday, October 13 at 9/8c.
