Cleveland Indians closer Chris Perez is suddenly in boiling water as investigation is underway to determine his involvement on drugs confiscated at his residence in Rocky River, Ohio.

Perez, who was recently placed in disabled list, could face severe charges - including illegal possession of prohibited drugs - after Rocky River police seized a handful of marijuana believed to be delivered by still unknown person to the pitcher's house.

No charges have been filed yet, but the Police are working together with Ohio's regional narcotics unit and postal inspector to solve the matter.

Indians GM Chris Antonetti immediately released a press release, confirming Perez's current situation.

"Earlier this morning we were made aware of a situation involving Chris Perez that occurred yesterday in Rocky River," said GM Chris Antonetti in a statement on Wednesday. "We have talked with Chris and are currently in the process of gathering additional information."

Tribe manager Terry Francona remained mum over the matter as they try to gather more information about the incidence.

"I can't say anything. I've talked to [Perez]. We are still looking into getting more information," Francona said.

It has been a really rough year for the two-time All-Star closer, who has a record of 2-1 with six saves and 18 strikeouts. His 4.32 ERA is by far the worst ever since assuming the role as the closer for the Tribe.

More information will be released as the story progresses
