Hans Zimmer will score Christopher Nolan's new film "Interstellar."
Collider reported that the German composer has already started working on Nolan's new film. He told the publication, "I wrote something...and I'm writing that. So, yes, we have started."
The news comes as no surprise because Zimmer has already collaborated with Nolan on four films. He worked with James Newton Howard on "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight Rises" and later wrote the scores for "Inception" and "The Dark Knight Rises."
"Interstellar" is a sci-fi story written by Nolan's brother Jonathon Nolan. The film is based on the scientific theory of Caltech physicist and relativity expert Kip. S. Thorne and "features a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding." The film is slated to star Matthew McConaughey (Mud), Anne Hathaway (The Dark Knight Rises), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) and Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Rises)
Recently Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Entertainment. announced that at the CinemaCon that Nolan will shoot a significant portion of "Interstellar" with IMAX Cameras.
Nolan also announced that he would work with cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) instead of his long-time collaborator Wally Pfister. Pfister is currently directing his first film "Transcendance" which Nolan is executive producing.
Zimmer recently completed work on "Man of Steel" and "The Lone Ranger." He will also score Ron Howard's "Rush" and Steve McQueen's "Twelve Years a Slave." The composer is best known for his work on "The Lion King" for which he won an Academy Award as well as his work for "Pirates of the Caribbean."
Warner Bros will release "Interstellar" in November 2014 and Steven Spielberg and Lynda Obst will produce alongside Nolan.
