Channing Tatum is now officially a daddy!
The GI Joe star and proclaimed "Sexiest Man Alive" welcomed his first baby with wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum on Thursday, May 30, in London.
Us Magazine "exclusively" published the news on June 2, Sunday. At first, the gender of the baby as well as other details were not readily revealed. However, a follow up report published by the entertainment news site confirmed that the couple's first baby is a girl.
Tatum and wife, Jenna, met at the set of their movie Step Up in 2006. After dating for over three years, the two got married in July of 2009.
Earlier in the year, Channing revealed to Ryan Seacrest that the couple would be having their baby in London, due to work commitments.
"We're going to actually have the baby in London while I'm shooting, and then there will be no downtime whatsoever after that," the new father told Seacrest. He is currently filming his new film, Jupiter Ascending, in the UK with co-star, Mila Kunis. After London, Tatum will be flying back to the US to shoot his new film in Chicago. Jenna, on the other hand, will start working on her new series, Witches of East End, set in Vancouver.
A source, however, told UsMagazine that "the baby will get top billing as far as priorities go," adding that "Channing is going to be the most adorable hands-on daddy ever and do whatever is necessary to make sure Jenna can balance it all."
And while he admits to People that he is clueless about daddy duties: "I have never changed a diaper before, so I may need some help learning...so it's going to be an interesting experience to learn how to change a diaper. I hope I don't have any problems where the diaper falls off and the baby poops on the ground,"
So far, no news regarding the baby girl's name have surfaced but Channing recently told Seacrest that his new baby is his "greatest production yet."
