Jenni Rivera's daughter Janney "Chiquis" Marin recently confessed that she wants to play her mother in the upcoming biopic film.
Chiquis told the television program Ventaneando that she was dying to do the role. She said that although she heard many people tell her it was a bad idea, she wants to take the risk. Chiquis also revealed that if she did not get the role, the actress who played her mother should be one who will portray her correctly.
Rivera's biopic was originally slated to star Alicia Machado, but the actress recently said she never confirmed. According to previous reports she had already signed the contract but later denied the rumor.
Chiquis recently told People En Espanol that she was currently working in Colombia on the new telenovela "La Madame" which she plays Dinorah and was not thinking about her next project.
Meanwhile Francisco Joel Mendoza has decided to move forward with his planned biopic. He recently held casting auditions in which he asked aspiring candidates to sing, dance and act for him. He also asked for children and men and said that anyone from the ages of 5 to 99 years of age could audition.
Mendoza also stated that he did not care if the actor had experience or not and did not care if he or she was illegal in the US. Mendoza also stated that production would help the prospective candidate get a visa if he or she looked and acted the part.
Meanwhile Rosie Rivera has yet to announce any specifics on the families' biopic. The only thing that is certain is that she wants a Hollywood production.
A few months ago the Rivera family and Mendoza had an argument about the rights to the film. The family members stated that they were the only individuals who had the rights to make the movie and that they did not know whether Jenni had ever met Mendoza. They asserted that Rivera's sister Rosie never authorized the director to make a movie about her.
Mendoza responded to the message by calling the family's film "a complete fiasco."
